Kurt Zitzen (25 March 1916 – 24 August 1993) was a highly decorated Hauptmann der Reserve in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Kurt Zitzen was captured in September 1944 by Soviet troops and was held until 1953.
